Happy first DTD podcast of the year, everybody! We hope you’ve had a happy and safe New Year’s Eve & wish you and yours all the best in 2012.

This week, we’re joined by the multi-talented Grant Cross. He writes haiku, draws comics, writes & performs music and does it all with a unique sense of humor & charming weirdness. We ventured from our usual recording spot and joined Grant at his residence at “The Holly Compound” in East Austin, where he lives in a trailer on a huge lot set back from the street, giving the sense of being in the woods instead of blocks away from Downtown. The complex houses a handful of artfully decorated cottages, a huge communal kitchen with the most amazing old gas stove, a guest trailer, a fire pit, a fountain, a giant porch (we finally got to record at a table!), chandeliers made from cigarette lighters, cats who like to eat pretzels and jump on Randall’s lap and so much more. Basically, I can’t even begin to describe the wonderment the place holds.

We had a great time visiting and recording with Grant. This episode has us talking about the future, joking around, talking about movies, and going on various other tangents. Grant played us a bunch of great songs, recited a few haiku, and made us laugh a lot. We hope you have fun listening!
